The winner of the broadcasting TV rights for IPL is likely to shell out Rs 23,575 crore while the digital rights have gone for Rs 19,680 crore, according to reports.

Package A is for TV rights for Indian sub-continent while Package B is for digital rights in the region.

However, the winner of package A can offer a counter for package B at an incremental bid of Rs 1 crore.

The rights for both the TV and digital has been sold for a total of Rs 43,255 crore. It is not yet clear who emerged as winner for TV and digital rights as the process is still on.

The TV rights have gone for Rs 57.5 crore per match while for digital the rights have been sold for Rs 48 crore per match.

Four out of the seven players in the fray --- Viacom18, Disney-Star, Sony and Zee were involved in the bidding war to clinch the rights for broadcasting one of the most watched sporting events.

Once it is over, the winner of package B can challenge for Package C which has 18 non-exclusive digital rights game for Rs 16 crore per game and subsequently Package D (Overseas TV and Digital combined rights at Rs 3 crore per game) will come up for bidding.

The auction was expected to fetch the BCCI over Rs 50,000 crore but looks likely to have settled below that figure.
