HYDERABAD: The gang rape of the 17-year-old, in upscale
Jubilee Hills on May 28, was pre-planned, prima facie evidence indicates, sources in Hyderabad police told TOI on Sunday.
"The five accused - including four minors and one adult - committed the crime in a pre-planned manner. They even had condoms on them and used protection while committing the offence," a police official said adding, "We are trying to ascertain where they got the condoms from."
According to sources familiar with the ongoing custodial interrogation of the accused, it also being verified if the condoms were bought before entering the pub or after they left the premises to first head to a bakery and later to the crime scene on Road No 44.
Police have also collated the Call Data Records (CDR) of all the accused and will use it to question them further on Monday.
"It will help us understand who all were in touch with the accused during the offence and also while they were on the run," the official said.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, all the six accused - including the minor who has been charged with outraging the modesty of the survivor - were taken to Jubilee Hills Road No 44, to recreate the crime scene and string together the sequence of events to understand how the crime was committed and where they went after that.
However, police sources said that there were a few discrepancies in the statements given by the accused. "We need to interrogate them again, based on call records," a source said.
It is learnt that during their interrogation on Sunday, the accused referred to the survivor as affable, and confessed that they took advantage of her 'friendly attitude' to sexually exploit her. "Irrespective of who raped her first and at whose provocation, all the boys ultimately engaged in the offence and that's the truth," the official said.
Cops are also waiting for the potency test reports of the five main accused from doctors at the Osmania General Hospital (OGH), as they believe it is an important scientific report to establish the case.
