NEW DELHI: In its two-day meeting, the executive committee of the Delhi unit of BJP on Sunday adopted a political resolution condemning the AAP government for “corruption, helping anti-national Bangladeshi and Rohingyas, the water crisis in the city and weakening public transport,” among others.
Moved by the leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Ramvir Singh Budhuri, the resolution also lauded the central leadership under PM Narendra Modi for “gifting” 150 electric buses to the capital and running other “welfare schemes” in the city.
No immediate reaction was available from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Interestingly, BJP changed the colour theme of its backdrop hoarding of the meeting from characteristic saffron to white and blue, probably for the first time.
The executive meeting had Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya as the chief guest, while national vice president and Delhi affairs in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda and secretary and state co-in-charge Alka Gurjar were among those present. Mandaviya urged the party workers to work hard if BJP wanted to form the next government in Delhi. Panda, on the other hand, lauded the PM for successfully running a massive vaccination campaign during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta said the Modi government, in its eight years in office, had done a lot for the capital’s roads, transport, education, healthcare and other sectors. He also lauded the Centre’s contribution to reducing pollution in Delhi by constructing eastern and western peripheral expressways and providing 150 electric buses for Delhi under the FAME scheme.
