JAIPUR: The mayor of Jaipur Municipal Corporation - Heritage has warned the urban development (UD)
tax collecting firm to either start collecting UD tax as per target or their contract will be terminated.
A meeting was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of JMC-Heritage mayor
Munesh Gurjar to review the revenue recovery. All the zone deputy commissioners, deputy commissioner revenue (1st), revenue officers and revenue inspectors were present in the meeting.
The mayor gave clear instructions to M/s Sparrow Company to complete the UD tax survey within the stipulated time.
Gurjar also directed the revenue officers of the corporation to monitor the company's work daily.
The company, which was supposed to complete the survey of all the properties including commercial and residential and collect UD tax from the residents of the city has failed to meet the deadline and target. JMC-Heritage has more than Rs 100 crore pending as UD tax on the city residents.
The last city survey was conducted in 2007 and since then there has been an increase in the number of properties in the city..
