BENGALURU: The long-pending Byappanahalli-Whitefield
Namma Metro section viaduct and pillars will have a new look.
“We have tied up with four firms for beautification work between Seetharampalya and Whitefield. Work is now progressing near Pattandur Agrahara station at ITPL. Each firm has been given a 2-2.5km stretch. They will paint the viaduct on the section in green and pillars also will have flowers/leaves and an environmental theme,” said a
BMRCL official.
All the firms BMRCL has tied up with are from in and around ITPL, the official said, adding that the work is expected to be completed in four months and the firms are taking it up as part of their corporate social responsibility.
“If more firms come forward, we will extend this from Seetharampalya to Byappanahalli and other places,” the official said. “Namma Metro is an environment-friendly mode of transport. The green paint also reflects this. At present, most Metro pillars are very dull. The beautification work will make them attractive and establish a connection with passengers,” another official said.
