Rathod hopes for return to cabinet after clean chit in Pooja Chavan death

Yavatmal: I was made a scapegoat by the BJP, which is a vindictive party, said former forest minister and sitting Shiv Sena MLA from Digras Sanjay Rathod, after getting a clean chit in the death of Pooja Chavan at Pune.
Talking to TOI on Sunday, Sanjay Rathod said, “I was innocent and confident of overcoming the difficult situation.” He added the deceased Pooja was a member of his own community and her untimely death was a great loss.
“I resigned as minister suo moto before party chief and chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on moral grounds,” he said, adding that their community still has many problems and he wanted to get back to solving them.
On the clean chit by Pune police commissioner, Rathod said he suffered due to estranged political relations with BJP. When asked about his return to the cabinet, Rathod said the chief minister is just and would ensure justice to a loyal Shiv Sainik like him.
The Banjara Mahant is keen to reinduct Sanjay Rathod into the state cabinet, for which he had gone to Mumbai to meet the CM.
Yavatmal has suffered a lot after the exit of Rathod as guardian minister, which charge was given to EGS and horticulture minister Sandeepan Bhumre. The latter seldom visited the district, and when he did, he only attended a few meeting, and never met the people. There was strong resentment over the neglect of the district by the MVA government.
