Vadodara logs 21 fresh cases, active cases at 121

Vadodara: A day after Vadodara registered 33 new Covid-19 cases, the number of fresh cases declined to 21 in Vadodara city and district on Sunday.
The results were from 1,342 samples that were tested in 24 hours ending on Sunday evening. The fresh cases were reported from Gotri, Jetalpur, Akota, Sama, Chhani, Diwalipura, Bhayli, Gorwa, Panigate, Subhanpura and Manjalpur areas of the city.
Of the 21 fresh cases, a majority of them – as many as 16 are from the west zone of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) while the east and north zone of the civic body count for two cases each. There is one case registered in VMC’s south zone while not a single case has been reported from Vadodara rural.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 1,34,393.
With no fresh death due to Covid-19, the official death toll stands at 757. The number of active cases, however, stands at 121, of which 113 are under home isolation. Nine patients have been hospitalized. Of these, eight have shown mild symptoms while there is one patient that is requiring oxygen support.
On Sunday, 11 patients were declared as discharged taking the total number of discharged patients to 1,33,515. Another 84 individuals are currently under quarantine.
