Coimbatore: Two held for stealing 16 batteries

COIMBATORE: The Saibaba Colony police arrested two men on Friday evening for stealing 16 batteries and two inverters of the four LED unipoles installed in the city.
Police identified the accused as A Veera Soundar, 23, an electrician from Nallampalayam, and N Karthikeyan, 23, an autorickshaw driver from South Ukkadam.
Skyrams Advertisement Company had installed 30 LED unipoles in the city. The duo had removed the batteries and inverters from the LED unipoles located at PN Pudur, near CMCH bus stand, Omni bus stand on Sathyamangalam Road and the one on Mettupalayam Road, in the past 40 days.
