BERHAMPUR: The
MKCG Medical College and Hospital authorities here will soon appoint junior doctors on contractual basis to tide over the crunch of physicians at southern Odisha’s referral hospital.
“The government allowed us to hire contractual junior doctors. We will soon issue an advertisement, inviting applications in this regard,” said dean-cum-principal of the medical college, Dr
Abani Kant Mishra.
So far, the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (
DMET), Bhubaneswar, used to centrally hire contractual junior doctors for the state’s medical colleges. “We hope more junior doctors will be interested to join the facility when the selection process is decentralised,” said a senior doctor.
