Thiruvananthapuram: Criminal arrested in attempt to murder case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city police on Saturday arrested a youth for attempt to murder. The accused was identified as Unnikuttan alias Raj, 26 a resident of Menamkulam. He was held for grievously injuring Menamkulam resident Satishkumar by hacking.
The incident happened last Monday. Satishkumar was waylaid by Raj while he was on his way to the temple on a two-wheeler. He was attacked by Raj using a machete and was hacked. Satishkumar had given statement against Raj in a case pertaining to the murder of Satish’s brother. Raj nursed a grudge against Satish due to this reason. He went into hiding after the incident.
According to police Raj has got cases registered against him at various police stations related to murder, Pocso, and attempt to murder. He was produced in the court and remanded in judicial custody. He was arrested by a team led by Kazhakootam Cyber City ACP Hari C. SHO Praveen J S, SI Midhun, senior civil police officer O Baiju, civil police officers Arun, Sajad and Anwar Sha.
