Amit Shah for faster probe into sexual offence cases

RAJKOT: Home minister Amit Shah on Saturday stressed the need for early probe in cases of rape and sexual offences against women and children and the need for stringent punishment in a time-bound manner.
Shah said this during the 25th meeting of the Western Zonal Council at Union territory of Diu.
The issues discussed included improvement of banking services in rural areas, monitoring of rape and sexual offences cases against women and children, implementation of Fast Track courts for such cases; verification of the identity of marine fishermen on high seas, development of local contingency plan by coastal states for mass rescue operation in high seas and encouragement of Make in India.
