Students, staff hit by internet shutdown

Ranchi: Students and those working from home are facing a challenging time in the wake of internet services being suspended in Ranchi.
For instance, a student of St. Xavier’s College-Ranchi, Geet Arora said, “Our offline classes have only recently resumed after a gap of two years. But now, we cannot have online classes too due to the shutdown of internet services in this curfew. I am really tensed about when our classes will resume.”
His sister Geetika Arora, who had recently left for abroad post marriage, got tensed when she couldn’t reach her family on the internet. “She called us on late Friday night as she learnt about the riots on social media.”
Similarly, one Kritika Ranjan, who recently joined Infosys and is working from home, said her work has been disrupted.
