Ludhiana: Residents continued to face extreme heat as the day temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at around 44 degrees on Saturday. But met department predicts rain in city on Monday.
According to the met department, the day temperature in Ludhiana on Saturday was recorded at 43.8 degrees Celsius, which is around 5 degrees more than normal. A day before, the day temperature in Ludhiana was witnessed at 44.4 degrees Celsius which was 5.8 degrees more than normal.
Meanwhile, the minimum (night) temperature in city on Saturday was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius, which was around 3 degrees more than normal and 1.3 degree more than a day before.
Met department officials said western disturbance is expected in Ludhiana on June 13 and may bring light rainfall and after June 15 as well there are chances of rain. They added that in the coming few days, temperature in the day is expected to fall whereas night temperature might rise.
According to met department website, the day temperature is expected to fall to 41 degrees by Thursday whereas the night temperature may rise to 30 degrees.
Meanwhile, residents had to brave the heat on Saturday. “It has been very hot for sometime now and we are anxiously waiting for the day when it rains in city so that weather turns pleasant. Because of heat, we have to drink a lot of water to keep ourselves hydrated,” said

Dugri area.
