AAP deputes 8-9 MLAs each in 9 assembly constituencies

Patiala: For the Sangrur bypoll, AAP has deputed eight to nine party MLAs in each assembly segment falling under Sangrur Lok Sabha seat to canvass for party candidate Gurmail Singh, a sarpanch and party’s district incharge.
These MLAs would campaign in villages and areas defined to them in coordination with the respective MLA of the segments. In Lehra seat, represented by AAP MLA Barinder Kumar Goyal, eight MLA — Chetan Singh Joremajra, Kulwant Singh Bajiar, Ashok Pappi, Naresh Kataria, Rajnish Dahia, Amit Rattan Kotfatta, Gurlal Ghanaur and Dr Balbir Singh — have been deputed.
In Bhagwant Mann’s Dhuri assembly seat, nine MLAs — Santosh Kataria, ADC Jaswinder Singh Kulwant Singh, Dalvir Singh Tong, Ranvir Singh Bhullar, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Amarpal Singh, Master Jagsir Singh and Sheetal Anurag — have been given the task to campaign for Gurmail, who on Saturday launched a door-to-door campaign from Bhadaur seat.
Accompanied by Bhadaur segment MLA Labh Singh Ugoke and party workers, Gurmail Singh canvassed in about 16 villages including Rajiya, Kalke, Tappa, Dhilwan, Bhadaur and others and got a stupendous response from people of the constituency. In Malerkotla around eight MLAs are on job to campaign for Gurmail Singh whereas in Dirba which is represented by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, nine MLAs are given task of canvassing. In Barnala segment of Sangrur Lok Sabha seat around nine MLAs, in Mehal Kalan seven legislators, and in Aman Arora’s Sunam segment around eight legislators are assigned the canvassing task. In Sangrur and Bhadaur, eight MLAs in each would canvass for party candidate.
Davinder Singh, AAP Sangrur incharge, said, “The party has deputed all its legislators to campaign in Sangrur and each MLA has been given the area including 8 to 10 villages for canvassing. The campaign by MLAs have started today. Bhagwant Mann would also come by next week probably and will campaign for two days. AAP MLA from Delhi, Jarnail Singh would also campaign on June 13”.
Sangrur is a bastion of AAP and incumbent CM Bhagwant Mann has been a two-time MP from the seat. This seat fell vacant after Mann, resigned as MP following his triumph from the Dhuri constituency in the state assembly elections.
