Silchar: Amid questions over the setting up of a greenfield airport at
Doloo Tea Estate in Assam’s Cachar district, the district administration has come out with a clarification.
Pankaj Kumar Deka, the additional deputy commissioner (revenue), said the entire process of land acquisition for the the airport was done following due procedure. “I would like to inform all concerned that this particular land was acquired as per the instructions of the government following due procedure. It was supposed to be handed over free of encumbrance,” the

Sushmita Dev had said, “Till date, no proposal as per GFA Policy, 2008 to construct a greenfield airport in Cachar has been received by the ministry. However, if any such proposal from any airport developer or the state government is received, the same would be considered as per the Greenfield Airports Policy, 2008.” tnn
