Uma Thurman and Henry Golding have joined the cast of The Old Guard sequel.

The 2020 hit action movie starring Charlize Theron is one of Netflix's most popular films, with 186 million hours viewed in its first 28 days of release, reports Deadline.

The film based on the comic book of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez centres on Andy (Theron), an ancient warrior who leads a group of immortal mercenaries in the superhero film.

The Monster actor confirmed a sequel is in the works in July 2022.

Alongside Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo and Chiwetel Ejiofor will all reprise their roles.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker second unit director Victoria Mahoney will helm the film, taking over from Gina Prince-Bythewood, who directed the first film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel's script was written by Rucka and will be taking cues from the second story arc of the comic.
