UP Police in its crackdown after Friday Prayer violence made 45 arrests in Saharanpur, 37 in Prayagraj, 20 in Hathras, 23 in Ambedkarnagar, seven in Moradabad and four in Firozabad, taking the total number of arrests to 136.

15 people have been detained so far in Prayagraj.
Some people intentionally tried to disrupt peace today, despite efforts of police & administration. We have arrested 109 people from different districts in this regard as of now; primary districts being Saharanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Firozabad, Moradabad & Prayagraj

Things are peaceful now, the whole police force, including rapid action force, is on the ground ensuring no untoward incident takes place. Meanwhile, reinforcements from several other districts are on way. Some arrests have also been made.
Preparations for Friday namaz were under way for the past 4-5 days. Police had done a public outreach... to maintain peace & order. Extensive police deployment was done today, due to which peace & harmony was maintained in UP.

Under Sector Schemes, police, administration, magistrates & COs deployed a sufficient amount of police force for patrolling. People gathered immediately after namaz at various places in Saharanpur, Moradabad, Firozabad & other places; dispersed later.
In view of the June 3 violence after Friday prayers, the police today had made strict security arrangements with heavy deployment of forces at Parade and its adjoining areas.
The Friday ‘namaz’ at all mosques located in sensitive areas of Kanpur passed off peacefully amid tight security arrangements.
ACS Home Awanish Awasthi has also asked for reports explaining the situation in the districts.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has directed to take strict actions against hooligans after incidents of stone-pelting broke out in various cities in the state. Officials like ACS home Awanish Awasthi, acting DGP, ADG Law & Order, are monitoring the situation from police HQs.
