Dental surgeon bags award

Coimbatore: City-based dental surgeon Dr Gayathri Natarajan has bagged the Famdent Excellence in Dentistry Awards under the Indian Dental Talent of the Year category for the second consecutive year.
The surgeon was awarded for having several talents apart from dental practice. “It is always good to show interest in extracurricular activities besides studies. Apart from being an avid practitioner for the past 13 years, I am also a Bharatanatyam dancer, Carnatic singer, veena player, swimmer and am also into modelling,” Gayathri told TOI.
She advised parents to allow their wards to dream big and follow their passion. “Encourage them to pursue extracurricular activities. I still render songs and play the veena at the yearly Thyagaraja Aradhana. On the whole, time management is the key,” she added.
The ninth edition of award function was held in Mumbai on May 21.
