Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab incharge Jarnail Singh and chief minister Bhagwant
Mann held a meeting with party leaders and office-bearers in Chandigarh to chalk out strategy for the Sangrur
Lok Sabha bypoll scheduled for June 23.
Cabinet ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal,
Laljit Bhullar, Baljit Kaur, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Harbhajan Singh, some party MLAs, district president and Lok Sabha incharge of all districts also attended the meeting.
Later, Jarnail told the mediapersons that they discussed the byelection with the senior leaders of the party and Sangrur was the bastion of AAP where the party has been winning since 2014. In this election too, all the old records would be broken, he claimed.
He said it could happen only in the AAP that a young man from a common household, who wanted to do something for the welfare of Punjab, had been fielded as a candidate for the bypoll elections. AAP candidate Gurmail Singh said Sangrur was the capital of AAP and he would register triumph with a thumping majority. tnn
