Court reunites family after man files habeas corpus

Dharwad: The legal services committee of Karnataka High Court’s Dharwad bench has succeeded in disposing of a habeas corpus application filed by a man from the Haveri district and reuniting the family. Dilleppa Beerappa Buddalar of Medleri in Haveri had filed a habeas corpus application seeking direction to the police to trace his “missing” wife and children.
The committee, with police assistance, traced Dilleppa’s wife and children to Tamil Nadu and produced them before the bench of Justices Krishna Dixit and P Krishna Bhat. The Bench after counselling Dilleppa’s wife convinced her of the need for the entire family to stay together.
Following this, the family was reunited.
Member secretary of the committee Venkatesh Hulagi had directed LSC’s advocate Vidyashankar Dalawai to handle the case.
