Britney Spears married longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari on Thursday after nearly six years together.

A wedding crasher
Before the ceremony could begin, the wedding was reportedly interrupted when Britney's ex-husband gate-crashed the party.
Jason Alexander, a childhood friend to whom the 40-year-old singer was very briefly married to, crashed the sun-soaked event at Britney's luxurious home near Los Angeles, sparking a police response.
Alexander live-streamed his invasion on Instagram, with footage showing him telling a security guard he had been invited.
"Where's Britney?" he can be heard saying.
A video and photos obtained by TMZ showed a physical confrontation ensued with Britney's security, and the police were called.
Ventura County Sheriff's Office said officers were called to investigate reports of someone trespassing and found that Alexander had an outstanding warrant against him from another jurisdiction, so they arrested him, Variety reported.
The guests
Several A-list stars were on hand to celebrate as the singer and her fiancé said 'I Do'.
Madonna, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Maria Menounos, Paris Hilton, her husband Carter Reum and mom Kathy Hilton were all in attendance, People reports.
Donatella Versace and the singer's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, were also seen entering the wedding venue in Los Angeles.
According to E! News, Britney's sister, Jamie-Lynn Spears and both her parents, Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears, were not invited to the nuptials.
And although her two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, were invited, they did not attend. Britney's ex-husband and the boys' father, Kevin Federline, shared a statement via his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, ahead of the singer's big day.
"Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward," Kaplan said.
The dress
Britney previously revealed that fashion icon Donatella Versace created the all-important gown for her magical day.
"No … this is not my wedding dress," Britney wrote in the caption of a since-deleted November 2021 post. "Donatella Versace is making my dress as we speak…."
A source close to Britney told E! that the dress featured an off-the-shoulder cap sleeve with a deep V-shaped slit in the leg. The source added that Britney walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley's song Can't Help Falling in Love.
The history
The couple announced their engagement via Instagram in September 2021 but had not disclosed a wedding date.
Two months later, the Stronger singer was released from a legal conservatorship that had controlled her personal life and finances for 13 years. During court proceedings, she said she longed to marry and start a new family without restrictions.
Britney announced in April that she and Sam were expecting a baby. A month later, the singer said she had suffered a miscarriage.
Sam and Britney met in 2016 when they co-starred in a music video for her single Slumber Party.
Britney has been married twice before. She wed Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004, but that marriage was annulled a few days later.
That same year, she married Federline. That marriage ended in divorce in 2007.
