PRAYAGRAJ: Three persons, including a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader
Ramkumar Yadav, his coporator wife Rinki Yadav and one another sustained injuries when they were assaulted by a group of unidentified miscreants at Matadeen Ka Pura, Phaphamau area under the limits of Phaphamau police station in trans-Ganga area late on Wednesday night. The miscreants also damaged the SUV of the BJP leader.
Yadav has served as a BJP Mahanagar vice-president while his wife Rinki Yadav is a second term coporator from Phaphamau ward.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
Police said that the incident took place at around 1 pm when the BJP leader returned to his house after attending a marriage function and around a dozen armed miscreants, who might be roaming around the house, all of a sudden attacked the BJP leader.
The BJP leader has alleged that the miscreants also opened fire on his SUV and damaged it. Hearing noises and cries for help, the wife of BJP leader and party corporator Rinki Yadav came out of the house and rushed to him from the ire of the miscreants but she too was assaulted.
The corporator and his husband then called mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi and briefed about the incident, following which a team of Phaphamau police rushed to the spot.
Phaphamau station officer Ashish Singh said that and FIR under sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 392, 427, 323 and 506 of IPC has been registered against 10 persons, including
Vinod Kumar, Akshay Yadav, Shobhanath Yadav, Lallu Yadav, Arvind Yadav, Gaurav Yadav, Nikhil Yadav, Neeraj Yadav, PP Yadav, LC Yadav, Sunny Yadav and others.
Police said that raids were being conducted to nab the culprits.
