The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) secured three seats in the state of Karnataka in the Rajya Sabha polls held on Friday. The Indian National Congress, on the other hand, won one seat.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Jaggesh and CT Ravi were among the BJP's candidates who secured victory. From the Congress, former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh managed to win.
The counting of votes, which was scheduled to begin at 5 pm for the Rajya Sabha elections in four states, was delayed as a delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress met the Election Commission (EC) in Delhi over alleged violation of protocol in some states.
