HISAR: A police team of Dial 112 was attacked when it had gone to rescue a woman assaulted by her husband and in-laws at Khairampur village of this district on Wednesday.
The team was attacked with a spade, shovel and sticks. Exemptee head constable (EHC)
Karambir, who was part of the team, has been admitted to a private hospital, where his condition remains critical.
On the complaint of EHC

Suresh, father Indraj and mother Sumitra under sections 186 (obstructing public servant), 332 (causing hurt voluntarily to deter public servant ), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant), 307 (attempt to murder), 34 (common intent in crime) of the Indian Penal Code (
IPC) at the Adampur police station.
The police team had responded to a call received at a control room around 9:30pm. When police car driver EHC Karambir and SPO Surender Singh reached the spot, the caller, identified as Meenakshi, told them that she had dialed 112 after her husband and in-laws assaulted her.
The cops were talking to one of the accused when the others attacked them, and threatened that they would not go back alive.
