RAJKOT: A ceramic factory owner of
Morbi was allegedly thrashed and robbed of Rs 2.95 lakh near Ravapar road in Morbi district on Wednesday night when he was going back to home along with his employee.
According to the police complaint which he had registered with the Morbi taluka police station, Rajni Surani said that he was going home in his car along with his three employees and a driver as per routine from his ceramic factory in Rafaleshwar.
A car coming from the opposite side deliberately collided with Surani’s car near Ravapar and the occupants of the other car named as Sultan, Ajay, Gautam Makwana and two unidentified others demanded Surani money for the damage to their car. When Surani argued that it was their mistake, the accused allegedly attacked and thrashed Surani and the others in his car.
They also hurled stones on them and robbed Rs 2.95 lakh in cash which Surani was carrying.
Surani was later taken to a hospital in Morbi where more than 200 ceramic factory owners gathered late in the night and demanded strong action against the accused.
Accused Gautam Makwana registered a cross complaint against Surani’s driver Deepbha Gadhvi alleging that he drove the car on the wrong side which led to the collision with his car and damaged it. He further alleged in his FIR that Gadhvi and three other people also thrashed him and also hurled castiest abuses on him.
