Kerala: SISF allowed to provide security to places of worship

The SISF will charge places of worship at the same rate at which industrial units are charged for providing security cover.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet has given clearance for the state industrial security force (SISF) to undertake requests from places of religious worship to provide security cover for them on a long-term basis.
The SISF, which gives security cover to industrial units, will charge places of worship at the same rate at which industrial units are charged for providing security cover.
The services of SISF, with a strength of close to 1,000 personnel (though the sanctioned strength is 3,250 personnel), are offered on a payment basis to government and private organisations.
Assembly session: The cabinet has decided to recommend the governor to convene the assembly session from June 27.
Special court: A special additional district and sessions court will be set up for conducting the trial into the Puttingal Devi temple fireworks disaster, which happened in April 2016, in which 111 persons were killed and more than 300 injured. Compounding and
Bottling unit: A five-line compounding and bottling unit will be set up in the Malabar Distilleries Limited in Chittur, Palakkad, for manufacturing more Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) using the funds of the Kerala state beverages corporation (Bevco).
Pay revision: The cabinet decided to provide benefits of the pay revision commission to permanent employees and coterminous employees of the Kerala state human rights commission (SHRC).
Permanent posts: The cabinet has decided to convert part-time posts of Malayalam teachers in 26 technical high schools under the technical education department into permanent posts.
