THANE: The Thane sessions court has granted bail to a 24-year-old man who was arrested for abetment to suicide after a woman killed herself owing to alleged harassment by the loan apps recovery agents. Her body was found in Gorai on March 16.
Sessions judge
RR Kakani, while granting bail to
Rishab Kahar observed, that the averments in the FIR don’t show there was continued harassment from the accused.
The prosecutor told the court that deceased
Daksha Boricha had secured a loan from two loan apps, and was subjected to harassment from over two dozen mobile numbers. On February 22, loan recovery agents had sent messages to her relatives saying, “she is a thief and she fled with the loan amount.” It also had her Aadhar card and photo.
