Uttar Pradesh: Undertrial who escaped from Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital arrested

PRAYAGRAJ: A joint team of special operation group (SOG) and Kotwali police on Wednesday arrested a man identified as Deepak Pal (32), a resident of Pratapgarh, who had escaped from the police custody from Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) hospital on May 22.
Police have also seized one country-made pistol of 0.315 bore along with two live cartridges from his possession.
He was also carrying Rs 25,000 cash reward on his head.
Police said that Pal was admitted at SRN hospital for treatment by jail authorities on May18 and he escaped on May 22 afternoon.
The arrested man told police that “when he was admitted at SRN hospital for treatment, a man named Ranu Tiwari used to come to meet him and he had insisted that he escape from the hospital.
Police said that three criminal cases were pending against the miscreant.
Meanwhile, Puramufti police have seized as many as 12 trucks under the section 207 of Motor Vehicle Act and on the charges of over-loading near Mandar turn.
The police have taken up a drive against overloading and illegal mining\transportation across the district.
