According to the police, the accused, Yogendra Singh Yadav, was posted at the Jarcha police station.
“It came to our knowledge that Yadav sought a Rs 30,000 bribe from a person who was accused in a case of assault and breach of peace on May 2 in Kalaunda village, Jarcha. After that, we decided to catch him red-handed,” a senior officer of the state’s Anti-Corruption Department (Meerut Zone) said.
He added that the anti-corruption team laid a trap on June 7 around 4pm.
