AppleTV+ has released the trailer for Ray Liotta's final TV role.
The Goodfellas actor died in his sleep last month in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming a movie called Dangerous Waters.
In the psychological thriller Black Bird, Liotta plays James 'Big Jim' Keene, a decorated policeman whose son Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton) finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
"I never wanted this for you; I wanted a totally different life," the character tells his son while visiting him in prison.
According to a press release by the streaming service, the limited series is inspired by actual events and adapted true-crime memoir In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption by James Keene and Hillel Levin.
"Jimmy Keene (Egerton) is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum-security prison; he is given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole," reads the official synopsis.
"Keene quickly realises his only way out is to elicit a confession and find out where the bodies of several young girls are buried before Hall's appeal goes through."
