Liquor worth ₹40L seized, one held

Rajkot: Gandhidham police in Kutch seized liquor worth Rs 40 lakh and arrested one person near Varsamedi village of Anjar on Monday night.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the spot and found two trucks loaded with liquor boxes that were about to be opened for distribution.
In all, 9,060 liquor bottles worth Rs 36.72 lakh and 4,080 beer tins worth Rs 4.8 lakh were seized.
Bootlegger Manubha Vaghela, who had ordered the consignment, and a few others escaped during the raid. Police arrested Navaldan Das, driver of one of the trucks.
