Rajkot: Police have seized two pistols and 139 cartridges from the house and thread-making unit of a man who was arrested for opening fire outside a police chowky in
Mahuva town of
Bhavnagar a few days ago.
While police had arrested the accused
Ram Makwana and his accomplice and seized two pistols from them,
Makwana informed that his father Jayesh and brother
Chirag possessed one pistol each.
“The pistols are Italian made and worth Rs 50,000. We have arrested Jayesh and Chirag under the Arms Act as they did not have the weapon license,” said police.
Makwana, whose wife works as a police constable, had opened fire in the air and tried to shoot a cop who narrowly escaped the bullet last week. Makwana, police said, had opened fire only to establish is supremacy and scare people. They sped away and abandoned the car at around three km distance from the site of the incident. Makwana was arrested the same day. tnn
