Mumbai: After providing free libraries in the civic gardens now the BMC will keep them equipped with medical kits too. The BMC received 300 medical kits under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on Wednesday.
The open space in the densest mega cities like Mumbai is a boon, not just to improve green cover but to also give free air to the citizens. In the last few years, the BMC has implemented various initiatives through CSR to provide good facilities in such places. This includes beautification of gardens, grounds, traffic islands etc. Under this initiative the BMC inaugurated its free library at Maheshwari Udyan, Matunga recently.
Daily hundreds of adults and kids visit the civic garden, and some of the kids get hurt while playing. So the BMC will now keep medical kits available in the gardens to provide immediate first aid to the citizens or children who visit the parks in case of any unforeseen injury. Megha Shrey, an organization, handed this medical kit to the additional municipal commissioner Ashwini Bhide at the BMC headquarters on Wednesday.
