Two new roads to make commuting easy

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) ensured that the areas for two major roads in the western parts of the city were cleared. The roads will provide better connectivity in Gorwa, Laxmipura and Gotri areas.
The town planning scheme 10 for these areas was cleared by the state government recently. The scheme paved the way for the roads from Gorwa ITI to Lotus Plaza on Laxmipura Road and that from the Surya Society to Midland Society in Panchwati.
The road from Gorwa ITI to Lotus Plaza will be 24 meter wide and will cover a distance of 2.25km. The Surya Society to Midland Society road will be 800-meter long and have a width of 18 meter. Mayor Keyur Rokadiya said that the new roads will reduce travel distances. He said that the encroachments on the road lines were removed voluntarily by residents with the help of VMC. The planning for the roads including the circles to be developed on them and other details had been worked out, said Sayajigunj MLA Jitendra Sukhadiya. He added that the road will be beautified and have greenery.
The MLA has allocated Rs 2 crore from his quota for the road.
