LUCKNOW: An employee of Lucknow Development Authority (
LDA) posed as an officer and demanded money from a woman who was getting a room constructed in her residence at Alambagh.
The victim lodged a police complaint following which the accused was arrested.

Garhi Kanaura locality is getting her house constructed. On Saturday, a man came and demanded to know if Mamta had got the map approved from the LDA.
The accused, who identified himself as
Lal Bachchan Yadav, told the woman that she will have to deposit Rs 2.5 lakh as fee for permission for construction and. He demanded Rs 50,000 for ‘sweets’ (bribe) from the woman and threatened to get the construction stopped if she did not pay up.
“He introduced himself as an officer of LDA and used abusive language when I refused to pay the money and threatened that he would get the construction stopped. He was in an inebriated state when he came to my house,” the victim alleged.
Station House Officer Alambagh Dhananjay Singh said the accused is a Class IV employee in LDA and has been arrested.
