The deceased were identified as 70-year-old Shivdulari Kunwar, the wife of late Bharosa Sao of Chela village under Sandesh police station area, and her 50-year-old daughter Sudhira Kunwar, the wife of Vijay Sao of Dev village under Sikarhatta police station area, in Bhojpur district.
Shivdulari's elder son Dharmendra was arrested, Sandesh police station SHO Deepak Jha told mediapersons on Monday. He said the two women were beaten to death with sticks, rod and stones. "Raids are on to nab the second accused, Tunnu. Land dispute between the siblings and their mother seems to be the reason behind the incident," the SHO said.
According to the police sources, a dispute over a plot of 3 kattha land had been going on between the two sons on one side and their mother and sister on the other side. While Dharmendra and Tunnu wanted to sell the land, their mother and sister were opposed to the idea. In a fit of rage on Sunday night, both the accused allegedly beat their mother and sister to death.
