Patna: Youth killed over love affair

PATNA: Unknown assailants allegedly killed a teenager over love affair with a girl and dumped his body around 100-metre away from his house in Patna district on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Uttam Kumar (15), son of Mrityunjay Kumar, a resident of Dokhada village under Sigori police station area in rural Patna.
The police have sent the mutilated body for postmortem. The family members told police that the incident took place when the boy was sleeping on the terrace of his house. They suspected that he might have been dragged out of the house in the early hours and beaten to death.
Manoj Kumar, in-charge of Sigori police station, who reached the spot after getting information, said the boy was brutally murdered as there were several injury marks on his body. “Some of his villagers said the boy was in love with a girl of his village and that could the reason behind the murder. We are investigating the case from all angles,” he said.
The villagers said Uttam had passed the Matriculation examination this year and his father works as a driver of a private bus.
Medico kills self: A medical student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself while talking to a youth on her cellphone in Siwan district late Sunday night.
The incident took place at 11pm at Visheshwar Puram under Town police station area of the district. The deceased was identified as Nivedika Bharadwaj, the 26-year-old daughter of Savaliya Prasad Singh of Shri Nandan Path Srinivas, Chhapra.
Her father has filed a complaint with the Town police station against one Alok Mani (26), son of Ashok Singh, of Sudri Kaudia under Bhagwanpur Hat police station area, for mentally torturing his daughter and forcing her for marriage. No suicide note was found. The landlord Surendra Kumar Singh spotted the girl’s body and informed Nivedika’s father.
One dies in accident: A 35-year-old man, Ajay Kumar of Alamganj Noorani Bagh Colony of Patna district, died while his 8-year-old son Anmol Kumar suffered injuries after their bike hit the divider on the Mahatma Gandhi Setu late Sunday night.
