COIMBATORE: Around 300 representatives from nationalised banks and industry associations participated in the inauguration of Iconic Week Celebrations of the ministries of finance and corporate affairs, which was presided by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi through a virtual session, at
Thudiyalur on Monday.
Modi inaugurated the event under ‘Azadi ka
Amrit Mahotsav in New Delhi. It was held in five cities in
Tamil Nadu, with Coimbatore being one of the centres.
During the event, Modi launched the jan samarth portal, which will provide ease and convenience to all beneficiaries of credit-linked government schemes.
The event was webcasted live at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in Thudiyalur organised by the income tax department.
Chief commissioner of income tax M Bhupal Reddy, principal commissioner of GST and customs A R S Kumar, deputy general manager of State Bank of India Dilip Singh Yadav, chief regional manager of Indian Overseas Bank N Vijaya, senior divisional manager of LIC Prasanna and ICAI president N V Palanisamy were present at the event. During the programme, short films titled ‘Money Flow’ and ‘Nation Grows’ were screened.
