Chandigarh: Mayor of Chandigarh,
Sarbjit Kaur on Monday launched “Swachh Rakkho, Swasth Raho” campaign in a bid to clean 305 public toilets as well as community toilets. This campaign urged all municipal councillors of the city and the citizens to join together and make their best possible efforts in maintaining public toilets during “environment week”, from June 5 to June 11.
The mayor launched the campaign at Shanti Nagar, Manimajra, and nearly 225 public toilets as well as community toilets in city markets and colonies all over city were cleaned under the supervision of area councillors.

Singh Sidhu, area councillor of municipal ward number 2 participated in the cleaning campaign at public toilet, situated at Sector 7, Chandigarh. During this campaign the commissioner and area councillor
Sidhu greeted female toilet attendant with flowers. They also handed over her a pair of gloves, apron and other safety equipment for cleaning in toilet to her.
According to the mayor, on the second day public and community toilets in the city, including toilets in markets, green belts, colonies, schools and institutions have been cleaned. tnn
