RAJKOT: A man killed his elderly neighbour in Rajkot for 'disturbing his sleep'.
The senior citizen victim who was severely injured in an attack by his neighbour died during treatment in hospital on Sunday night.
According to
Gandhigram police, Kirit Shah (70), a resident of Nageshwar area was attacked by his neighbour Abhay alias Montu Vyas on Saturday. Kirit and Abhay were not only neighbours but they were friends also and sometimes also used to discuss religious books. However, According to police Abhay was short-tempered and he was also held in several offences in the past.
According to police, on Saturday noon when Abhay was asleep, Kirit went to his house and rang the doorbell multiple times. This made Abhay furious.
G M Hadiya police inspector of Gandhigram police station said, “The accused Abhay lost his temper and slapped Kirit who was sitting in the parking. Kirit ran to save himself, which agitated him more. He took the butt of the shovel and hit him on the head.”
Kirit was taken to hospital where he died during treatment. He did not gain consciousness so police could not register his statement but based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s son Vishal police arrested Abhay.
