HYDERABAD: The four
Khalistani terror suspects, arrested by Haryana police on May 5 for being in possession of
IEDs, pistol and ammunition which they were supposed to deliver in Adilabad district, have confessed to interrogators that they had delivered a similar consignment on the night of March 30 near
Zaheerabad.
The suspects — Gurpreet Singh, his brother Amandeep, Parminder Singh and Bhupinder — told police that they along with their associates Akashdeep Singh and Jashanpreet Singh of Ferozepur, who were subsequently arrested by Punjab police, came to Telangana on March 30 and April 1 and dropped a consignment of IEDs at a specific location on Hyderabad-Zaheerabad highway near Zaheerabad. After dropping the consignment, the six terror operatives drove down to Bi- dar and Nanded. “But, they did not drop any consignment of explosives there. The accused claimed that they were unaware who the recipients of the consignments were,” said a police source.
The accused also confessed to police that though they have only brought one consignment to Telangana, they made 20 consignment drops in Punjab and two in Haryana. Investigators, however, said that they have not found any links of the accused with Maoists and the receivers were yet to be identified. Karnal district SP Ganga Ram Punia said the case has now been taken over by the NIA.

Gurpreet, Amandeep and Parminder hail from Makhu town in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, while Bhupinder belongs to Ludhiana, police said.
After the arrest, Haryana police said the explosives, arms and am- munition were sent by Pakistanbased handler Harvinder Singh Rinda from across the border into Indian territory to revive terrorism in Punjab.
During the interrogation by the police , it was revealed that the four accused were supposed to deliver the consignment at an undisclosed location in Adilabad district in Telangana.
“The exact location to drop the consignment was not received by the accused at the time of their arrest. We were informed by the accused that the drop location keeps changing till the last minute,” said an investigator.
The accused persons Gurpreet and Amandeep, who were taken into police remand for the second time, were brought to Telangana.
