Private bank's ATM stolen in Dhanbad, found in Giridih

DHANBAD: A day after unidentified thieves had decamped with the ATM machine of a private bank from Topchanchi Chowk in Dhanbad, police on Sunday recovered the ATM machine from a secluded place near Atka village under Bagodar police station area in Giridih district.
Though the thieves had blackened the CCTV cameras installed inside the ATM room, the incident was recorded in the CCTV camera installed outside.
Jairam Prasad, the officer in-charge of Topchanchi police station said, "The footage retrieved from the CCTV camera shows that nearly five persons arrived in a pickup van. They uprooted the ATM machine with the help of ropes tied to the vehicle and fled away with the machine," adding, "Since the company responsible for filling cash in the ATM has not provided the details till late Sunday evening, we are not in a position to say anything on the exact amount stolen from the ATM." The incident site is located barely 100 mt from Topchanchi police station
