RANCHI: Union Public Service Commission's (UPSC) civil services preliminary exam was conducted across 61 centres in Ranchi on Sunday in two phases.
The general studies (GS) paper was conducted in the first phase from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, while civil services aptitude test (CSAT) paper was held from 2.30pm - 4.30pm. The GS paper comprised 100 questions each carrying 2 marks and CSAT had 80 questions carrying 2.5 marks each.
Chandan Kumar, Ranchi district administration's ADM, a total of 28,286 students had registered for the examination, of which 13,385 students appeared in the first half and 13,265 in the second half.
A special centre was also arranged at D.A.V Nandraj in Bariatu, especially for the differently-abled candidates. "There were 81 differentbly-abled students who were due to write their papers, but only 39 were present," said assistant centre supervisor
Anuradha Rani at the venue.
Rohit Kumar, an aspirant from
Bokaro whose centre was at Loyola Convent School,
Booty said, "The paper was moderately difficult. Though some questions were easy, some were confusing as well. The GS was somewhat difficult as compared to the CSAT paper.
