India logged 4,518 new coronavirus infections taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,81335, while the daily positivity rate was recorded above one per cent after 34 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The active cases rose to 25,782 and the death count climbed to 5,24,701 with 9 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

Puducherry logs 3 new COVID-19 cases, overall tally rises to 1,65,898
The union territory of Puducherry added three new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours taking the overall tally to 1,65,898, a senior official of the Department of Health said on Monday.
The three cases emerged after the examination of 257 samples, Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release.
The number of active cases stood at 41, he said, adding that three patients recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours ending 10 AM Monday. The overall recoveries stood at 1,63,895.

Mizoram reports 4 fresh COVID-19 cases
Mizoram reported four fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest single-day spike this year, taking the tally to 2,28,404, a health department official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. The COVID-19 death toll remained at 700 as no new fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, he said.
The single-day positivity rate increased to 9.76 per cent from 3.54 per cent the previous as the four cases were detected from 41 samples tested, the official said.
The state had reported nine COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

Thane logs 273 new COVID-19 cases
With the addition of 273 new COVID-19 cases, the infection tally in Maharashtra's Thane district has gone up to 7,11,115, an official said on Monday.These new cases were reported on Sunday, he said.
There was no fresh fatality and the death toll in the district stood at 11,895, he said, adding that COVID-19 mortality rate in Thane is 1.67 per cent.
