Priests' row at Lingaraj ends

BHUBANESWAR: Priests at Lingaraj Temple here agreed to perform Sital Sasthi rituals late on Saturday night, ending a 48-hour stalemate.
After the intervention of the Khurda district administration and assurance to follow the Orissa high court's order to ensure participation of priests of Lord Kapilanath in the rituals, the protesting Brahamana and Pujapanda nijog agreed to perform in the wedding rituals of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. However, the rituals were held without the participation of priests of Lord Kapilanath.
Despite rain, a large number of people took out a colourful procession for the groom Shiva to the bride's place to Kedar Gouri temple. The procession saw the participation of traditional bands. tnn
