BENGALURU : A serving police sub-inspector (SI) has been booked for allegedly harassing his wife and raping her minor daughter. While the case is filed with a police station in Bengaluru, the officer facing the charges is currently deputed outside the city.
The complainant said she met the SI at a women’s police station in 2005. While she had gone to file a case against her then husband, the SI had been summoned to record his statement in relation to a complaint his then wife had filed against him. After their first meeting there, the complainant and the SI continued to meet again, and eventually married after separating from their respective spouses at the time.
The woman has accused the SI of physically assaulting her and sexually abusing her 13-year-old daughter. She also alleged that he sexually molested her sister.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her identity as per Supreme Court's directives on cases related to sexual assault)
