Gita Press spreading the message of ‘dharma’: CM Yogi Adityanath

CM Yogi Adityanath, President Ram Nath Kovind and Governor Anandiben Patel attended the centenary celebrations of Gita Press in Gorakhpur
LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday praised Gorakhpur’s Gita Press for its “inspirational work” in spreading the message of Sanatan Dharm across the world.
Addressing the centenary celebrations of Gita Press in Gorakhpur, the CM said the organization was doing exceptional service to the country through religious, spiritual and cultural literature, which was the best kind of service. “In 1923, Jay Dayal Goenka planted a seed in a building which he had taken on rent for Rs 10. That seed has now become a tree which is doing incredible work of connecting people through religious rituals. For Hanuman Prasad Poddar to become connected with the Press and the starting of the Kalyan journal were incredible things to happen.
The journal was taken to every house even when there were very few facilities available,” he said. The CM pointed out that Gita Press books did not have advertisements or grammatical errors and the translation of ‘Gita Tatva Vivechani’ in simple Hindi could be understood by all. “The centenary celebrations of the Press in the 75th year of Independence, when India is celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, should inspire all residents of Gorakhpur and readers of Gita Press publications,” he said.
The CM spoke about the link of Gita Press with Gorakshpeeth, saying that in 1955, when the first President of the country, Rajendra Prasad, had inaugurated the Lilachitra temple, he was accompanied by the then head of the temple and Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Dada Guru’, Mahant Digvijaynath. “Now, when President Ram Nath Kovind has come to visit the Temple, it is my fortune to accompany him,” he said.
