Bathinda: The unabated drug abuse is taking lives in
Punjab, and as per police records, two persons have lost their lives in last three days in
Bathinda district. The cases have been registered in both the incidents.
As per police records, Malkit Singh of Rampura Phool in district Bathinda complained to the police that his son Dharminder Sharma (31) was given drug overdose by some persons on June 2 due to which he died.
A case has been registered against Saroj Rani, Kuldeep under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 34 IPC (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) at Rampura police station and Saroj Rani has been arrested.
In another incident, Angrej Singh of Bathinda complained that his brother Bikram Singh (25) was given drug over dose by two persons due to which he died on June 1. A case has been registered at Bathinda Kotwali police station against one Kali and Ajit Kumar.

Surinderpal Singh of Dharamkot in Moga has died of drug overdose on Friday. “The district administration and local
MLA should work with us in prevailing upon those into drug addiction to come out and get treated,” he said.
