AHMEDABAD: While announcing the results of Class 12 general stream, GSHSEB officially announced the number of cheating cases.
According to the board, it found 2,544 students cheating that included students caught during the exams by supervisors and during CCTV footage scrutiny of examination classrooms. The board said that the number of cases this year as compared to 2020 has slightly reduced.
“There is a slight decline in cases of cheating this year. We have caught 2,544 students cheating during general stream exams this year. In 2019, 2,730 cases of cheating in exams were registered. We have withheld results of a few examination centres as we have received reports of mass cheating there,” Avniba Mori, the deputy director of examination GSHSEB said.
Mori added that the school performance has improved as compared to 2020. “In 2020, 56 schools’ results were below 10% while this year only one school has registered results less than 10%. There are 1,064 schools whose results are 100% this year. In 2020, only 279 schools had 100% results,” she said.
