20-year-old booked for rape

Ludhiana: The police have lodged an FIR against a Habib Ganj resident, 20, for raping a woman on the pretext of marriage.
The woman, also 20, said in her police complaint, “I met the accused in January 2019 during a religious function. After he befriended me, we started talking on phone. One day he said he wanted to marry me. He would take me to hotels and rape me after spiking my food. When I confronted him, he said he would tie the knot with me. On May 27, when I asked him to marry me, he refused.” ASI Roshan Lal said a case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC has been lodged against the accused.
